April 2022: First of all, I would like to report on the positive points: It is particularly noticeable that the employees are without exception friendly, helpful and courteous: in all departments and positions. From the cleaning staff, reception, nurses, therapists, service in the dining room to the chief doctor. In this respect, I feel that I am in good hands and have been warmly welcomed. The organization of the daily appointments during the rehabilitation is perfectly timed and varied. After a week here I feel noticeably better physically. The furniture in the public areas and in the room is bright, modern and friendly. My room is small but nice. The bathroom has cruel tile decor from the 70's, but it's clean. Mattress and bed fine. I recommend everyone to bring their own towels though as the towels provided are really worn out and appear as old as the building. Now I come to the food: It is a complete mystery to me how a rehabilitation clinic with the claim to want to offer its obese patients and others a healthier diet in order to get them to rethink their food, puts forward such unloving and unhealthy stuff! Does the in-house nutritional advice close its eyes here?! It is simply a lie when it is claimed on the Rabenstein Clinic's homepage that the food here is fresh and home-cooked. It is true: It is mainly food components from the industry that are processed and heated in the local kitchen. Always the same two sorts of cheap pre-baked rolls and industrial sliced bread for breakfast. Then "fruit" to the low-fat quark - pineapple, fruit cocktail, etc. in a can! There are as many vitamins in it as in cola. Fresh fruit is rationed: only one apple, kiwi or pear each. Some good jams. Butter, margarine and leftover salad from last night. Sausage without end, and always the same industrial cheese and nasty processed cheese. At lunchtime there are three main courses to choose from: A culinary nightmare! No matter whether whole food, light food or vegetarian: 90% only the cheapest frozen products, canned vegetables and packet sauces! If you look closely at the menu with the small numbers and compare the numbers 1, 2 and 6 on the small hidden panels at the buffet, you get: 😱😱😱 MORE THAN 80% OF ALL THE DISHES HERE ARE PRODUCED WITH FLAVOR ENHANCERS, ANTIOXIDANTS AND PRESERVATIVES!!!!!👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 Is this healthy? Is that the diet that the patients should get to know here for a healthier life? I feel like I'm walking through the maggi and cans department in the supermarket. Terrible for vegetarians: Again, unimaginative and loveless stuff that is supposed to fill you up. Even the lettuce gets a ready-made dressing. The "scrambled egg" with the spinach was a frozen ready-to-eat product with the consistency of foam. The eggs for the green sauce come peeled and boiled out of the bucket! The so-called fish ragout consisted of chunks of fish and looked like vomit; all light ready-made sauces have the appearance and consistency of paste. Always the same buffet for dinner as in the morning, only instead of canned fruit there are "salads" from the can! Only the carrot and radish salad are fresh. Even the coleslaw is bucket goods! 💡 My advice: Replace the kitchen management and your blind nutritional advice at the same time. Save your useless feedback sheets! 👎🏻 ******** Update July 2022: After I got Corona here in the clinic in April and had to leave early, I'm here again for 3 weeks. Despite my complaints regarding the horrible food before my arrival at "Patient Management" and here on site at "Quality Management" and "Nutritional Advice", the food is still consistently inferior to disgusting! Apparently complaints are ignored. I am very disappointed! Therefore, I lower my originally good overall rating from April to only ⭐️ in July.
